Dr. Haussler received his Bachelor of Science with majors in Professional Chemist’s Comprehensive and Mathematics Comprehensive from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He then earned a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Haussler completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the Wright State University Boonsoft School of Medicine Wright-Patterson Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.
After residency in 2016, Dr. Haussler served as an ABIM Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician and from 2018 to 2020 as the Medical Director of Internal Medicine for the United States Air Force, 673rd Medical Group in Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska.
As an Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Haussler works with patients to diagnose and manage unusual, complex, or chronic medical conditions. By utilizing his expertise of drug therapies and other non-surgical methods and knowledge in subspecialties such as cardiology, infectious diseases, and pulmonology, he develops tailored plans for each of his patients.
Dr. Berney, Physician at Family Medical Specialties acknowledged, “since the retirement of Dr. Tom Smith and Dr. William Sandy, we knew we needed an internal medical specialist that could fill some big shoes. We believe we have found that in Dr. Haussler. He is determined, experienced, passionate and excited to practice in our community and take care of our patients.”
Dr. Haussler is not new to the Holdrege area. He is a graduate from Arapahoe High School and is excited to return to the area to set his roots, grow his practice and serve his patients.
Family Medical Specialties will host a meet and greet event for Dr. Sandy’s patients and the community to meet Dr. Haussler in the near future. It will be announced once a date has been set.
